As a citizen of a state within the United States of America, we are living in exciting days because, like our founding generation, those who believe in the principles of freedom as expressed by our enlightened forefathers have an opportunity to preserve, protect and defend liberty not through the mere pretense of voting. Rather, it will come through the active and constructive planning and framing of institutions of government to best accomplish this end. Never before since the 1770s have people who live on this part of the world called America been faced with such an honorable and highly responsible position of protecting freedom in this manner. It then becomes not just our privilege, but moreover our duty to preserve freedom for ourselves, our families and our posterity.

It is with great pleasure that I have learned of The Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio, where they have declared in their mission statement to institute principles of free government for a free society within the borders of the sovereign state of Ohio. Upon their mission statement, they have proposed a plan of action, whereby the people of Ohio have the opportunity to apply those natural laws of God, as recognized in the Declaration of Independence, and to seek that form of government which best preserves the fundamental freedoms that you hold sacred.

If your freedoms are worthy of dying for, they most certainly are worth your time, energy and efforts of knowing and understanding the truths that set people free. They most certainly require the time you spend to study the matters on your own and to apply those ageless and eternal principles of freedom. Now is the time to quit relying on Washington D.C. to provide you freedom, when they have proven to be mostly interested in taking it away. Your defense and success is at home, in your own state. Reignite self-government, and you will reignite freedom!

Our Founders understood something that has been lost on most Americans today, that government serves best that serves the least and that government that is closest to the people is the most representative of the will of the people. Only by returning to government of, by, and for the people can true liberty ever be restored.

We must never forget that it was the states that created the Federal Government and that the Bill of Rights was established not to grant rights to the people, but rather, to bind the government down with chains.

I stand in complete support of the efforts of the Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio whose sole desire is to return the control of government to the people. Only by doing so can we stop the onslaught of unconstitutitonal edicts being forced on the citizens of sovereign states. We must fight to keep those chains in place.

The matter of state sovereignty over the federal government is not a modern notion contrived to address recent events. Rather, it was a fundamental principle set forth by our Founding Fathers in the Bill of Rights and incorporated into law by inclusion as the Tenth Amendment to the federal Constitution in 1791.

Our Founding Fathers understood that the separation and balance between state and federal powers in our federalist Republic system of government would help to preserve the checks and balances required to protect the peoples’ freedoms and prevent acts of tyranny by government.

As a legislator elected to serve the people in Ohio, it is my duty to uphold the state and federal Constitutions and to protect the people in Ohio from abuses by government.

The Ohio Senate has passed Senate Concurrent Resolution 13, which I introduced. SCR 13 gives notice to the federal government that the State of Ohio intends to maintain its sovereign powers under the 10th amendment of the constitution.

I hereby applaud and support the efforts of the Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio to ensure Ohio’s sovereign rights under the United States Constitution’s 10th amendment.

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”
- Amendment X of the United States Constitution.
As a candidate for the United States House of Representatives (Ohio District 13), as well as our campaign, I pledge to uphold the X Amendment and the entire United States Constitution as written. We do not adhere to the “living document” fringe, but support the document as intended by our Founding Fathers. The Constitution, as well as our Judeo-Christian values, is what made this great country what it is today.

Some of our elected politicians seem to have forgotten that, but we commit to upholding those values and will continue to do so in our public and private lives.

State sovereignty is an important issue at all times, but even more so in these days of Constitutional ignorance or plain disregard for our government’s blueprint by so many in Washington. This is why The Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio (PCCOH) is so important and why the Haney for Congressman Committee endorses their efforts to pass an Ohio Sovereignty Amendment and why I personally signed the petition to help get it on the ballot.

Please vote for Bill Haney on May 4 and review our web site at www.billhaney.org to see details on our commitment to fight for Traditional American Values, Fiscal Responsibility, and America First Foreign & Domestic Policies. We also encourage you to support the efforts of the good people at PCCOH.

Senator Kris Jordan is currently serving his first term in the Ohio Senate, proudly representing the 19th District, which includes Delaware, Knox, Morrow, Richland, and part of Ashland Counties. Kris is a lifelong resident of Delaware County, and, at age 25, was elected to his first term as Delaware County Commissioner in 2002. He was subsequently re-elected to a second term in 2006, serving six years as a commissioner before being elected to serve as a State Representative in 2008, representing the 2nd House District. Kris distinguished himself early, being elected to House leadership as Assistant Minority Whip - the first freshman in Ohio House history to do so.

The American political tradition points strongly to the value and importance of state’s rights. That is, the empowerment of state government in areas that are constitutionally prohibited from the federal government. The 10th Amendment is the most notable example of this ideal, encapsulated by those famous words:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

In addition, the Ohio Constitution reflects a similar ideal of reserving all powers not delegated within its words to the people:

“This enumeration of rights shall not be construed to impair or deny others retained by the people; and all powers, not herein delegated, remain with the people.”

Though these statements are powerful, numerous actions by the federal government have directly challenged the principals of our founding fathers, including states rights, rights of the people, and checks and balances. The federal government’s overreach cries for additional protections on the state level. As such, I am a strong supporter of amending a state sovereignty provision into the Ohio Constitution. I believe this is one way to continue the ideal of empowering the states and the people and limiting the powers of the federal government.

As the first legislator in Ohio to introduce the concept of state sovereignty via House Concurrent Resolution 11 (HCR 11), I look forward to keeping this issue at the forefront. I am committed to upholding the words of the US Constitution and Ohio’s constitution, and I thank PCCOH for its efforts to amend Ohio’s constitution to reflect the critical issue of state sovereignty.

While serving the community in law enforcement, I became a great supporter and advocate for the constitution and the separation of powers between state and federal government. The U. S. Supreme Court made it perfectly clear in its decision, in my victory over the Brady Bill, that the states cannot be compelled to enforce a federal regulatory law. The separation of powers was upheld, and it was reaffirmed that the states have the right to protect its citizens from the abuses of the federal government.

As I travel across the United States encouraging public servants to remain faithful to their promise to the people, as avowed in their oaths of office, I get to observe a unique perspective of the people's desire to protect their rights from undue government encroachment. Though their attitudes and concerns are similar around the country, their approach to resolving the problem of out-of-control government, vary.

One group, in particular, I endorse is the PEOPLES CONSTITUTION COALITION OF OHIO. They have taken matters into their own hands by writing an amendment to their state constitution to mandate constitutional compliance and accountability, by law, of their public officials. Their initiative petition goes directly to the people for ratification, not the legislature. The enthusiasm and energy of PCCOH members is inspirational. They are offering a very aggressive, yet peaceful, solution for taking back America. I sincerely support their efforts, and so should you. The people must have an effective means for holding government accountable to the constitution, and their efforts will help to provide that.

I believe that the only legitimate purpose of government is to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people. Specifically, we must abolish “public” or government education, drug laws and all other victimless “crime” laws, and restore the right to keep and bear arms. I also favor the repeal of the USA Patriot Act. Nullification is a very important tool to restrict the federal government, get rid of unconstitutional federal laws, and restore state sovereignty as guaranteed in the tenth amendment of the Constitution for the United States. This is why I will always vote to increase the liberties of the people and continue to uphold my oaths to the Constitution for the United States and the Constitution for the State of Ohio, as written.

For these reasons, I endorse the efforts of the Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio to restore liberty through reinstatement of constitutional government.

“I am the only candidate for Ohio Governor who will eliminate income taxes immediately, halt federal bribes, restore state sovereignty, give the people back their schools, and who promises NOT to run for a second term. I'm running not to become a politician, but to restore power to the people!”

Thirteen original colonies created the federal government to “establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of Liberty.” They did so as well to “form a more perfect union” of individual States. Anyone who seriously studies the background and history of these united States, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and the convention and ratification debates knows well that the States “are, and of right ought to be free and independent,” equipped with a republican form of government. Our constitutions are our blueprint for freedom.

The federal government is not much more now than a rogue entity, usurping the power and dangerous to the liberties of the people and their states. I am committed and intend, when elected, to be a barrier between the free people of the State of Ohio and the out-of-control federal government and its unconstitutional mandates and system of state bribery and coercion.

I support the effort of PCCOH in creating a viable amendment to the Ohio Constitution that provides a means to recall career politicians or any elected official in Ohio who does not fulfill his or her oath to protect, defend, and uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Ohio Constitution. If elected officials truly lived by their oaths to protect our liberties, this amendment would be unnecessary. The steady trends of usurpation of the last 100 years clearly show, unfortunately, that it is time we reaffirm and reestablish our sovereignty in a concrete and binding way.

I am honored to endorse the Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio. Every public official takes an oath of office to support and defend their respective Constitutions, whether state or federal.

While I was on active duty, on five occasions I took an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That is a life-long commitment, and I look forward to renewing that oath twice as a U.S. Representative for Ohio's 7th Congressional District. I will not take that oath more than twice as I will self-impose limits of no more than two terms.

After that public service, I will return to civilian life and enjoy the liberty, freedom, and U.S. and State sovereignty I helped protect while in Washington.

It is highly doubtful that there has ever been assembled the brilliant minds and the committed souls who gathered in Philadelphia over two hundred years ago and became known as the United States Founding Fathers. These Patriots crafted the greatest civil document that mankind's efforts have ever produced. Sadly the document that they produced has been eroded over time.

As a Candidate for Ohio Secretary of State I believe that in order to regain America's greatness we must return to the United States Constitution. During my lifetime I have seen great emphasis placed on defending the First and Second Amendments of the Constitution. It is my belief we must support all efforts to protect and promote the Tenth Amendment in a similar manner so our rights as Americans are not continually eroded.

As a Candidate for statewide office I endorse and support the efforts of The Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio.

I received a speaking invitation to one of the PCCOH Boot Camps, to tell my story about growing up in Communist Hungary, and to point out the parallels between the rise and fall of Hungary, and the rise and possible fall of the United States. Unfortunately the parallels are uncomfortably obvious, but thankfully we can make the necessary changes if we are willing to learn from the experience of another great and powerful country that today is not even a skeleton of what it once was, as it struggles, flutters like a fish out of water.

After the meeting the organizers of the group asked if I would consider endorsing the results of their hard work? Shocking really! Who? Me? Who am I to endorse anything, especially something as important as an amendment to our State Constitution? I am not an attorney, I have no legal background. I read the amendment, I understand it, and I do agree we need to be better able to control our politicians and secure for all our citizens total and complete sovereignty, and yet as I take a look back in history, when important men knew what they were doing, they made those changes to the Constitution, not us, not today!

Subsequently I came to the conclusion that we place our earlier leaders on a pedestal, we look at them with such admiration that we assume we could not possibly be on the same level of commitment, patriotism, today as they were back then. In fact, even our Founders were much like us! The difference is they recognized the importance of the time, and they preformed what needed to be done to secure freedom. They didn’t second guess themselves, they analyzed the situation, discussed it, and acted on it. Now, in this place and time the security of our freedom is questionable, as we gave up much through the decades, and it is our turn to notice the importance of the time, and restore freedom for future generations of Americans.   < more >

In fact, even our Founders were much like us! The difference is they recognized the importance of the time, and they preformed what needed to be done to secure freedom. They didn”t second guess themselves, they analyzed the situation, discussed it, and acted on it. Now, in this place and time the security of our freedom is questionable, as we gave up much through the decades, and it is our turn to notice the importance of the time, and restore freedom for future generations of Americans.

As I sat there listening to Michael Young I revisited in my mind what would Hungary be like if her people stood against their spineless leaders, and if it would have been as easy as an amendment to change the future? For Hungary it was not that simple! Think how empowering it is to have a document as our Constitution, the fact that our Founders new to make it possible for the PEOPLE to have total ruling power, perhaps anticipating that some day it will be necessary! Brilliant men gave us the tools we might need, because they knew firsthand what it would take to turn things around if generations living in abundance might lose sight of what the government is doing. These foundational thinkers were too familiar with the deed of men of weak convictions having political power, and clearly could imagine the indifference of people during times of plenty, losing sight of their patriotic obligations.

There are too many very strong forces that would like to see America on her knees, and the most dangerous are those whom reside inside our borders. Unless we don”t care how bloody the fight may get to restore our Constitution, our Constitution is our best bet to steer our state and country back on the right path again. We still have the opportunity through lawful means to bring the necessary changes to insure this power will remain in the hands of the people, but this window of opportunity is shrinking by the day.

At times I sit thinking about what it is that we are engaged in? If possibly we are over reacting and if we would just allow our elected representatives to do their work, they would bring us back to normalcy. But then I realize we cannot wait for that time, we cannot count on such representative to pop out of nowhere, knowing it is the current representative”s self serving, careless decisions that brought us to this critical point in history. Were it not for their actions, our Republic may not be facing this grave danger. The people not only must, but have the responsibility to notice the importance of the time, and get to work on repairing what we ignored for too long. It is our duty!

It would be false to assume that great things were only done by smart men of the past, and could think such only until we look into the struggles of our Founders and realize they too were afraid, questioned, and were hesitant, even hated the responsibility of having to “fix ” it all, but eventually came to the conclusion if not them, if not then, then when, and whom? Back in their days, what we see today as a glorious past, was their present, and they had to make decisions they didn”t really want to make, for they were too aware of the price of freedom, and the price of the choices they had to make. They were no different from us, any smarter, or more brave, and their calling was not any greater than ours is today. Our state is calling, our country is calling, the eyes of the world is upon us, as our Republic is screaming at us because we weren”t listening to her moaning when the problems were smaller. We sat on our hands, plugged our ears, and turned a blind eye, waiting for a miracle and honorable man, but when it counts it is us, we the people are the miracle that can restore honor. God gave us the ability with which to perceive the wrong and the danger, and now it is up to us to stand erect with conviction!

Today we have the choice to walk in the well worn boots of our Founders, or throw our arms in the air and give in to a One World Order as America melts into the boiling world pot, to shrink from greatness to inconsequential. The time is important as it is calling like it did back then, to get on our feet and see if we are still the Americans fit to fill those boots? I say we are, and we have to pick up the tools those wise men left for us, and get busy!

The many different “freedom” groups that formed in the last few years began to voice loud and clear what is in the hearts of the people throughout America. We educated ourselves, watched, and listened, we gathered realizing the danger to our Republic. The sleeping giant woke and as one it moved peacefully throughout the capital to show its size, determination, and commitment. The PEOPLE got involved! Our love of the Republic is contagious, our accomplishments are incredible, we united across the nation and changed the face of local and national government in one election. There is no point better made then when we the people speak with our votes!

We elected a new group who promised to exercise OUR will in government on all levels, but we must be cautious for we cannot ever trust the honor of men in power. We must have tools to tame the beast, and the Ohio Sovereignty Amendment provides this needed accountability of our representatives, to insure the governing of our State will always be of the people, by the people, for the people.

The forces are great, there is evil in the world, their rewards of power is luring to them, they tremble with desire to take over and make slaves of the entire world! If used properly, the Constitution is the savior of our state, our nation, perhaps the entire world! Time is running out!
