A project to promote governmental compliance with and accountability to our state and federal Constitutions.

I received a speaking invitation to one of the PCCOH Both Camps, to tell my story about growing up in Communist Hungary, and to point out the parallels between the rise and fall of Hungary, and the rise and possible fall of the United States. Unfortunately the parallels are uncomfortably obvious, but thankfully we can make the necessary changes if we are willing to learn from the experience of another great and powerful country that today is not even a skeleton of what it once was, as it struggles, flutters like a fish out of water.
After the meeting the organizers of the group asked if I would consider endorsing the results of their hard work? Shocking really! Who? Me? Who am I to endorse anything, especially something as important as an amendment to our State Constitution? I am not an attorney, I have no legal background. I read the amendment, I understand it, and I do agree we need to be better able to control our politicians and secure for all our citizens total and complete sovereignty, and yet as I take a look back in history, when important men knew what they were doing, they made those changes to the Constitution, not us, not today!
Subsequently I came to the conclusion that we place our earlier leaders on a pedestal, we look at them with such admiration that we assume we could not possibly be on the same level of commitment, patriotism, today as they were back then. In fact, even our Founders were much like us! The difference is they recognized the importance of the time, and they preformed what needed to be done to secure freedom. They didn”t second guess themselves, they analyzed the situation, discussed it, and acted on it. Now, in this place and time the security of our freedom is questionable, as we gave up much through the decades, and it is our turn to notice the importance of the time, and restore freedom for future generations of Americans.
As I sat there listening to Michael Young I revisited in my mind what would Hungary be like if her people stood against their spineless leaders, and if it would have been as easy as an amendment to change the future? For Hungary it was not that simple! Think how empowering it is to have a document as our Constitution, the fact that our Founders new to make it possible for the PEOPLE to have total ruling power, perhaps anticipating that some day it will be necessary! Brilliant men gave us the tools we might need, because they knew firsthand what it would take to turn things around if generations living in abundance might lose sight of what the government is doing. These foundational thinkers were too familiar with the deed of men of weak convictions having political power, and clearly could imagine the indifference of people during times of plenty, losing sight of their patriotic obligations.
There are too many very strong forces that would like to see America on her knees, and the most dangerous are those whom reside inside our borders. Unless we don”t care how bloody the fight may get to restore our Constitution, our Constitution is our best bet to steer our state and country back on the right path again. We still have the opportunity through lawful means to bring the necessary changes to insure this power will remain in the hands of the people, but this window of opportunity is shrinking by the day.
At times I sit thinking about what it is that we are engaged in? If possibly we are over reacting and if we would just allow our elected representatives to do their work, they would bring us back to normalcy. But then I realize we cannot wait for that time, we cannot count on such representative to pop out of nowhere, knowing it is the current representative”s self serving, careless decisions that brought us to this critical point in history. Were it not for their actions, our Republic may not be facing this grave danger. The people not only must, but have the responsibility to notice the importance of the time, and get to work on repairing what we ignored for too long. It is our duty!
It would be false to assume that great things were only done by smart men of the past, and could think such only until we look into the struggles of our Founders and realize they too were afraid, questioned, and were hesitant, even hated the responsibility of having to “fix ” it all, but eventually came to the conclusion if not them, if not then, then when, and whom? Back in their days, what we see today as a glorious past, was their present, and they had to make decisions they didn”t really want to make, for they were too aware of the price of freedom, and the price of the choices they had to make. They were no different from us, any smarter, or more brave, and their calling was not any greater than ours is today. Our state is calling, our country is calling, the eyes of the world is upon us, as our Republic is screaming at us because we weren”t listening to her moaning when the problems were smaller. We sat on our hands, plugged our ears, and turned a blind eye, waiting for a miracle and honorable man, but when it counts it is us, we the people are the miracle that can restore honor. God gave us the ability with which to perceive the wrong and the danger, and now it is up to us to stand erect with conviction!
Today we have the choice to walk in the well worn boots of our Founders, or throw our arms in the air and give in to a One World Order as America melts into the boiling world pot, to shrink from greatness to inconsequential. The time is important as it is calling like it did back then, to get on our feet and see if we are still the Americans fit to fill those boots? I say we are, and we have to pick up the tools those wise men left for us, and get busy!
The many different “freedom” groups that formed in the last few years began to voice loud and clear what is in the hearts of the people throughout America. We educated ourselves, watched, and listened, we gathered realizing the danger to our Republic. The sleeping giant woke and as one it moved peacefully throughout the capital to show its size, determination, and commitment. The PEOPLE got involved! Our love of the Republic is contagious, our accomplishments are incredible, we united across the nation and changed the face of local and national government in one election. There is no point better made then when we the people speak with our votes!
We elected a new group who promised to exercise OUR will in government on all levels, but we must be cautious for we cannot ever trust the honor of men in power. We must have tools to tame the beast, and the Ohio Sovereignty Amendment provides this needed accountability of our representatives, to insure the governing of our State will always be of the people, by the people, for the people.
The forces are great, there is evil in the world, their rewards of power is luring to them, they tremble with desire to take over and make slaves of the entire world! If used properly, the Constitution is the savior of our state, our nation, perhaps the entire world! Time is running out!
